We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. As civilian areas and hospitals become targets of the assault, we are witnessing crimes against humanity. There is no justification for this indiscriminate attack meant to topple a nation. We pray for an end to this carnage - Staff of BCRHHR

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering Opportunities
Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences, and generously lend their time and expertise to help create a rich and dynamic environment to serve our clients. All volunteers share a strong commitment to our mission of providing holistic care to refugees and torture survivors. Volunteers and interns generally serve in these key areas:
Refugee Patient Navigators
*Please refer to the instructions at the top of this page on how to apply for this position!
Many of our clients have little or no experience with the American health care system, and face a number of barriers to accessing care. To ease their transition, Refugee Patient Navigators (RPNs) help provide new patients with the necessary resources and navigational tools to reduce these barriers. Our RPN program provides volunteers the opportunity to get involved in programmatic administration through data management and coordination of resources. Additionally, volunteers will be able to interact with clients directly by assisting with new client intake and orientation to the complex health care system. RPNs also receive training on interacting with survivors of torture.
Requires: A commitment of at least one FULL Work day per week for 6 months. Must be reliable, flexible, a good communicator, good at troubleshooting, self-reflective and at least 18 years old. Experience working in a trauma-setting is preferred.
